Jose Mourinho hits out at Luis Suarez

Jose Mourinho turned down suggestions that Liverpool striker Luis Suarez should have had a penalty in Chelsea's 2-1 win on Sunday by insisting the Uruguayan should have been booked instead.

Mourinho's men came from behind to keep the pressure on Arsenal at the top of the table with Samuel Eto'o in the spotlight.
Although Eto'o scored the winner, he was perhaps lucky to escape punishment for an early challenge on Jordan Henderson -- it was from the resulting free kick that Liverpool scored -- and then late on the striker felled Luis Suarez in the penalty area. A frustrated Suarez felt he had been fouled but Mourinho disagreed, making a diving gesture and insisting simulation must be outlawed from the British game.
Mourinho told reporters: "Suarez lost a duel with (Cesar) Azpilicueta, Azpilicueta has the ball and is leaving the box with the ball and now he's doing an acrobatic swimming pool jump to try to get the penalty, because he's so clever because he's in the area where the Liverpool supporters behind. But (referee Howard) Webb is 10 metres away. And I think the only mistake Webb did was not to give him a yellow card.''
Television pundits insisted it was a spot-kick and Mourinho suggested there was a dearth of analysts with a Chelsea connection and joked that he would take a role in broadcasting following his management career. When pressed, Mourinho admitted there may have been contact between Eto'o and Suarez, "when the ball is 10 metres away with Azpilicueta'', even though he had earlier stated on Sky Sports 1 that Suarez went down "like somebody shot him''.
Suarez was praised by Mourinho in the build up, but was unable to score his 20th Premier League goal of the season on his 14th appearance as Martin Skrtel's fourth-minute goal was cancelled out by a brilliant Eden Hazard strike and Eto'o poked in a first-half winner. But Mourinho wants the Uruguayan to end his penchant for going to ground.
"The player is amazing,'' the Portuguese added. "He does everything to win and Brendan (Rodgers, the Liverpool manager) is doing a fantastic job on him because he's changed. There's no doubt that he's changed.
"But when the situation is like this and you are losing comes the nature of the player, the wild nature of the player or the cultural nature of the player. Culturally people from that area (South America), they like it. It's not also that area. There's a corner in Europe where I belong to, that they also like (diving).''
Mourinho earlier paid tribute to the efforts of Premier League players around the country for their performances throughout the busy festive period with their third game in seven days.
"Premier League players in this country deserve fantastic respect because what they do is amazing,'' he told Sky Sports 1. "To play in this period is beautiful. I love it. I keep saying I love it. The players are monsters in a good sense of the word... It is fantastic propaganda for what football is.''
Meanwhile, David Luiz hailed Hazard for his matchwinning performance.
"Of course it is not very good to [concede] a goal in the first minutes but there was a really strong mentality in the team, we gave everything on the pitch and it was magic tonight,'' Luiz said on Sky Sports 1. "Eden had a great game tonight and I'm happy we have players like Eden in the team because then I see amazing football.''
The win keeps Chelsea in third, just two points from leaders Arsenal. "We will keep fighting for the title,'' Luiz added.
Information from the Press Association was used in this report.

Chelsea rock Reds at the Bridge

Samuel Eto'o scored Chelsea's second goal in their 2-1 win against Liverpool.
Chelsea starved Luis Suarez of chances in claiming a 2-1 come-from-behind win over Liverpool in a pulsating Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge.
In Suarez's first match with Chelsea since April's infamous bite on Branislav Ivanovic earned him a 10-match ban, Jose Mourinho's side deprived the prolific striker of scoring opportunities and took full advantage.
The Blues responded from going behind to Martin Skrtel's fourth-minute goal with a brilliant Eden Hazard strike and a rare striker's goal.
Samuel Eto'o showed a goal-poacher's instinct to decide the game with his third Premier League goal of the season - and just the sixth by a Chelsea striker.
Liverpool hit the bar through Mamadou Sakho and might have had a penalty when John Terry clumsily clambered over Suarez in the box; although Hazard also had justifiable claims for a first-half spot-kick dismissed by referee Howard Webb.
Suarez had another penalty claim denied when Eto'o tripped him off the ball as Chelsea held on to move two points behind leaders Arsenal in third place. Liverpool are six points off the pace at the halfway stage of the season.
Mourinho enjoyed a famous rivalry with Liverpool in his first spell, but Chelsea's recent record against the Reds has been poor as they recorded just a third win in 14 Premier League games between the sides, with the Portuguese achieving victory over Brendan Rodgers, one of his former apprentices.
Mourinho's previous duels with Liverpool came against Rafael Benitez, who he has made numerous veiled barbs towards since succeeding the Spaniard at Chelsea.
Mourinho insisted he would not deploy David Luiz in midfield, but he did just that in a side showing four changes in a bid to stifle the attacking threat of Liverpool, particularly Suarez, who had scored 19 goals in his previous 13 Premier League games this term.
Chelsea captain John Terry made his 600th Chelsea appearance, while Daniel Agger was the Reds' sole change following the loss at Manchester City.
The Reds led when Suarez got in front of Ivanovic to meet Philippe Coutinho's free-kick. The ball hit Ivanovic and broke for Skrtel to tap in.
Conceding early roused Chelsea into action in a high-tempo, end-to-end contest.
Hazard forced Simon Mignolet to save before going down in the box under the challenge of Lucas Leiva, who was fortunate not to concede a penalty.
Mignolet was at full stretch to turn over a Frank Lampard shot from 25 yards which appeared destined for the top corner - but the Belgian goalkeeper was beaten by a brilliant shot from his compatriot Hazard moments later.
Oscar drove through the middle and his attempted pass bounced off Sakho into Hazard's path - and he hit a curled effort into the top corner.
Chelsea were now on top, but still had to be alert at the back and Gary Cahill made a brilliant tackle to deny Joe Allen.
Ivanovic's reunion with Suarez lasted less than half an hour after the Serbia right-back's left leg over-stretched after he collided with Agger, with Cole replacing him and Cesar Azpilicueta moving to right-back.
Azpilicueta was involved in the move which took the Blues ahead, making an over-lapping run before Oscar crossed towards Eto'o - who got in front of Skrtel to poke in beyond Mignolet.
Cech saved from Allen before the half-time whistle and a truce in proceedings which saw Eto'o and Sakho and Oscar and Coutinho swap shirts.
Lampard was replaced by John Obi Mikel as Mourinho made his second change in a breathless encounter.
Sakho hit the bar with a looping header after being found by Jordan Henderson before Mignolet saved from Eto'o.
Suarez volleyed straight at Cech after tangling with Mikel to earn his first shooting chance of the game and then went down in the box after competing for an aerial ball with Terry, with Webb unmoved.
Oscar curled narrowly wide after dispossessing Lucas and Hazard shot off target either side of Cech turning a Johnson effort round the post.
Then Eto'o needlessly tripped Suarez off the ball - but again Webb dismissed Liverpool complaints.
Fernando Torres replaced Eto'o and immediately ran at the Reds, cutting in from the touchline before forcing Mignolet to save.
Brazil team-mates Lucas and Oscar were involved in an angry exchange in stoppage time after the Chelsea man's tackle left his side defending a free-kick.
Suarez scored in the 97th minute in April and when a late set-piece went the visitors' way, Mignolet went up for the set-piece - but on this occasion there was no late equaliser.

Only In Zimbabwe!!! Man Fights Crocodile With Bare Hands To Save His 11-year-old Son [PHOTO]

leg1
A Mutoko father dived into a river and fought a crocodile with his bare hands to save the life of his 11-year-old son who had been seized while crossing Nyaitengwa River. Mr Tafadzwa Kachere and his son, Tapiwa (11) were both seriously injured in the battle and were yesterday admitted at Chitungwiza Central Hospital.
Tapiwas left leg had to be amputated, while his fathers left hand is badly hurt. Mr Kachere, who stays in Katiyo 1 Village under Chief Nyajina, said the crocodile attacked while they were on their way home from his garden. When we were coming from the garden, I was walking in front and the boy was following me. After crossing the river, I heard the boy screaming for help and I rushed to rescue him. I could see him struggling to free himself as the crocodile kept on holding on to his leg.

I took the risk and dived into the water and joined the fight trying to force open the jaws with my hands. I failed to open the crocodiles mouth and resorted to poking its mouth with reeds while seated on its back. I instructed my son to hold on to the reeds as I continued poking into the crocodiles mouth until it released the boy, said Mr Kachere. But when the reptile freed Tapiwa, it turned on the father.
“I struggled with it until we both got out of the water and I was still on top of it. I poked its eyes several times until it released my injured hand, he said. After the attack, the two were taken to Nyadire Hospital for emergency first aid before being moved to Chitungwiza Central Hospital. Mr Kachere appealed for assistance to buy an artificial limb for his son. I appeal to well-wishers for assistance in the purchase of an artificial leg for my son. He still wants to go to school and up to now he still thinks he will get his leg back. We lied to him that the leg was temporarily being removed for treatment purposes and I do not know how to break the news to him. What a pitiable dismapisma displayed by a loving dad to a dieing son but still, this can only happen in Zimbabwe.

Want to see what $52 million worth of wedding cake looks like?
Cake, a bakery in Chester, England, has created what is reportedly the world’s most expensive wedding cake, valued at £34 million (that’s about $52.7 million). The eight-tiered confection is decorated with more than 4,000 diamonds and will be on display (then eaten!) at the National Gay Wedding Show in Liverpool on March 3. Here’s a photo Cake tweeted Friday:
The previous record-holder was a cake valued at $20 million, baked by Beverly Hills’ La Patisserie Artistique. In 2011, The Knot estimated that the average cost of a wedding cake was $540.

Man Gives $700 Million Dollars to Charity, then Jumps from 16-Story Window

robert-wilson

When people have given up on life, they sometimes do strange things.  According to Elitedaily.com, a multi-millionaire in Manhattan jumped to his death right after giving away several hundred million dollars to charity.
Robert Wilson was 86-years old when he decided that it was time to move to his next life.  The mogul and hedge fund manager had a net worth of $800 million, and gave all except for $100 million to charity.  They say that the only reason he didn’t give away the rest is because it was locked up in long-term investments.
The man jumped 16 floors on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.   His friends say that they could see the signs of a pending suicide.  He’d been behaving strangely since suffering a stroke last month.  They say that, since that time, he was giving away nearly all of the money in his accounts.

Wilson had a massive fortune, but no children to leave money to.  He was divorced 35 years ago.
“His plan was to give all his money away. He told me recently, ‘I only have about $100million left,’” friend Stephen Viscusi told The New York Post.
The four charities that the man left his money to were: The Nature Conservancy, the Environmental Defense Fund, the Wildlife Conservation Society and the World Monuments Fund.
“He was the most committed person I have ever known,” World Monuments Fund president Bonnie Burnham told The Post. “More than his financial contributions, he brought an astute mind and sharp wit to the organization. He will be missed greatly and long remembered as a visionary donor.”
Wilson loved to give.  He even gave money to Catholic schools despite the fact that he didn’t believe in God.
“I’m an atheist, but I think the schools are especially good,” he said to the Financial Times.
Wilson’s greatest prize was his apartment, which he’d owned since 1978.  His art collection was so exquisite that the apartment’s value rose from $300,000 to $20 million.

Please Pray For Jet Li

CHINA MAINLAND OUT

Jet Li
Chinese action star and martial arts hero, Jet Li, has said that he is being treated for an overactive thyroid, but he is determined to fight the condition head-on.
The superstar who is known for his kung fu skills,  discussed his diagnosis during the recording of a talent show he is judging in China.
During the recording of the show on Tuesday, the 50-year-old actor appeared to have a fuller face and heavier frame. He said his weight has fluctuated but he is taking it all in stride.
Li, even  joked about his weight gain and said “I’m fat, I don’t have the time to lose it. It’s a fact!”
According to a Daily News report:

He explained that exercise is not advised with the medication he’s taking. An overactive thyroid, or hyperthyroidism, causes changes in a person’s metabolism and heart rate, among other symptoms, but is generally treatable with medications.
Li was diagnosed in 2010. He kept his condition under control with medication, but it came back with a vengeance recently.
Jet Li (center), pictured in ‘Unleashed,’ can’t exercise while he’s under the treatment.
He said that he’s tackling his illness head-on. “I’m just a regular guy, I’m not Wong Fei Hung, I’m not Huo Yuan Jia (kung fu heroes he portrays on film), I’m not a hero. I’m just like you.”
A martial arts champion at a young age, Li turned to acting and began showing off his kung fu skills on big screens in the 1980s.
Jet Li (center), pictured in ‘Unleashed,’ can’t exercise while he’s under the treatment.
He catapulted to fame in the ‘90s with the “Once Upon a Time in China” films where he portrayed martial arts master Wong Fei Hung.
His Hollywood career includes such titles as “Lethal Weapon 4,” “Romeo Must Die” and more recently “The Expendables 2.”
Li confessed there are times he’s unsure if he’s able to carry on with work, but he’s determined. “I’m in pain, but I’m not suffering. I’m happy,” he said.

Some Naija Artists that ruled the Music Industry in 2013!!!

Some Naija artistes clearly outshone their colleagues and drew the attention of most music fans in 2013. In 2013, quite a number of artistes made their mark on the music scene. But, a few stood out on account of their ingenuity and enjoyed higher rating than the others.

They include Olamide, Wizkid, Ice Prince, Kcee, Flavour, Inyanya, Burna Boy, Phyno, among others.

Olamide
He is, no doubt, one of the most sought-after hip-hop artistes in Nigeria. Admired for his consistency, Badoo has succeeded in filling the vacuum created by the death of rap sensation, Dagrin.
The alternative rapper, who has redefined the word ‘Razz’ as the new cool, has been described as the ‘king of the streets’. He recently signed a multimillion Naira endorsement deal with the makers of Ciroc ultra premium vodka and Etisalat.
The rapper’s many hit songs include Jale, Street Love, Jesu O kola, Durosoke, Stupid Love, First of All and Ilefo Illuminati. The 24-year-old star acquired a brand new 2013 Range Rover Sport. He also topped the winners’ list at the 2013 Nigerian Entertainment Awards in New York, US, with three awards.
The wordsmith who is clearly good with metaphors, is a delight to watch anyday, anytime.

Iyanya
Rave of the moment, Iyanya, initially made news headlines due to his failed romance with two popular actresses. Fortunately, Kukere has taken him to the next level.
The singer who considers 2013 his best year ever, sealed mouth-watering endorsement deals with MTN, Zinox Computers and Solo Phones, while his appearance fees also tripled in 2013.
In addition, he recently expanded his fan base after touring the USA and UK during the Spring of 2013. Rumour has it that top promoters and DJs in the States say the artiste’s USA tour has been the most successful by a contemporary Nigerian artiste in the past five years.

Kcee
Kingsley Okonkwo’s decision to part ways with his partner of 12 years, Presh, to pursue a solo music career in May 2011, is proving to be profitable, after all. Fortune and fame have eventually smiled on him, as Limpopo, the eighth single since the breakup, infiltrated the airwaves early in the year.
Despite the fact that many listeners have no idea what Limpopo actually stands for, it remains a hit. He successfully gave music fans what will probably end up being one of the top three songs of 2013 and followed it up with another, Okoso.
Without doubt, the light-skinned artiste is having a great time. He recently bagged a multi-million naira endorsement deal from telecommunications company, MTN, and purchased a brand new 2013 Range Rover and BMW X6 cars.

Flavour
Aptly dubbed the ‘Rock Star of Nigerian music’, Flavour enjoyed sold out concerts in the US, Australia and Burkina Faso during the year. He also dropped some hits like Ada Ada, Shake and Chinny Baby. His star-studded Ada Ada video remains a reference point in the Nigerian music industry.
His scintillating, dance steps coupled with the sex appeal which he oozes to the female folk, has made the singer irresistible to many people.
Described as one of the fastest rising musicians in Africa, who remains relatively unsung in Nigeria, he bagged four awards including the biggest award of the night – ‘Video of the Year, .at the 2013 Nigerian music video awards.
Limpopo master, Kcee, rates him as the richest Nigerian artiste unknown to many.

Ice prince
He gained international recognition after beating 2face Idibia to the Best International Act Award at the BET Awards. He recently moved to a bigger apartment in the Ogudu area, after completing a mansion in his hometown, Jos. The buzz around him got louder after he appeared in Yvonne Nelson’s ‘House of Gold’ alongside Ghanaian actor, Majid Michael.
Twenty-six-year-old Ice Prince lives like a true superstar and has generated a lot of buzz and hype for himself. A proud owner of a 2010 model of Bentley GT, a Range Rover SUV, among many others, the Chocolate City Records ‘golden boy’ continues to witness a steady rise since his mega-hit, ‘Oleku’ was released.
His Fire of Zamini album launch concert hosted by former lawmaker and current Chief to the Edo State Governor, Patrick Obahiagbon, was reportedly sold-out.

Wizkid
A string of endorsement deals, including one from MTN, has seen Wizkid make the list of big earning music artistes in Nigeria. At present, he is the highest paid Pepsi Ambassador in Africa and lives in a N140m choice home in Lekki, Lagos.
The talented singer, songwriter and performer has emerged and remained one of Nigeria’s hottest music acts, seven years after he broke into the Nigerian music scene. His talent has taken him to different parts of the world and seen him perform alongside world class artistes such as Chris Brown, Akon, Young Jeezy, and Kardinal Official.
Wizkid’s position on the African music chart was further justified after he made it to the Channel O/Forbes List of Bankable African Artistes.
Mentioned alongside big weights like Don Jazzy, Psquare and D’banj, he was placed ahead of Tuface Idibia on the list.
Early in the year, he threw a free appreciation party for his fans at the New African Shrine. He has the BET, MTV, Channel O and Ghana Music Awards to his credit. His Jaiye Jaiye video, which features Femi Kuti was a hit in the year under review.

Burna Boy
He made newspaper headlines after reports emerged that he sold the marketing rights to his debut album, ‘Leaving an impact for eternity’ for N10m to popular Alaba music and movie marketer, Uba Pacific.
The album is also said to have made a record sale of 40,000 units on the day of its release.
The singer, who has the backing of his grandfather, Benson Idonije, who was the manager of the late Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti was made a Globacom ambassador this year.
Armed with his unique style of music, which is a deviation from the norm, he has proved that sometimes, it pays to resist the band-wagon effect.
With “Like to party” track and video fashioned after Shaba Ranks’ style of music, the singer hit the music scene with a bang.
During 2013 Felabration, the young act performed to a large crowd in his underpants. The performance will linger in the memories of music fans for many years to come.

Phyno
Azubuike Chibuzo aka Pyhno is said to have stepped into the shoes of foremost Igbo rapper, Mr. Raw, with his unique delivery of rap music. The light skinned, Anambara state born rapper, who has been doing his thing for nine years working with the likes of Timaya, illbliss, M.I, Mr Raw, Bracket and Flavour, raps in his native Igbo language with so much finesse.
